My name is Brooke Leighton and this is my 2nd year in 4-H at Anselmo Willing Workers. 4-H has taught me great life skills including public speaking, which help me in school all the time. As well as teaching me to handle and show cattle. One of my favorite things about 4-H is seeing and meeting new people. I am in grade 8 at Mayerthorpe Junior/Senior High school. When I’m not helping on the farm you can find me playing with my brother and sister, reading books and spending time with family and friends. I like the outdoors and I enjoy hunting and fishing. My steer project is a black simmental, He’s a very quiet, big boy and his name is Rambo. He is my favorite calf and he really loves his scratches! He will look forward to scratch time everyday. I am excited to work with him more. If you are looking for a calf that will do you good for BBQ season Rambo is the steer for you. We have a booked appointment to be butchered for June 14 at Pembina Valley Meats by Magnolia (we have had many animals butchered there and they do an Excellent job) if needed.
