My name is Amy Erickson. I have been a member of the Mayerthorpe 4-H Beef Club for 5 years. 4-H has taught me some very useful skills like public speaking, volunteering, and being a role model for younger members. Over the past several years I have been able to attend 4-H activities such as curling and skating, where I have had a lot of fun learning new skills and meeting new friends. I am in Grade 8 at BCHS. When I'm not helping on the farm you could find me in the dance studio. I take Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary, Performance Company, and my favorite, Pointe. My homegrown steer project is "GUS" He is a Charolais/Angus Cross that I picked from our family herd. If you are looking for some Grade A beef for the BBQ, GUS is your guy! We have a butcher spot booked for MID-JUNE at Dan Custom Meats (Barrhead)!
