Hi! My name is Mira Labrenz. I am 11 years old and this is my third year in the Lakemere 4-H Beef Club, but this is my first year having a steer project. My steer is a purebred Gelbvieh named Heineken. I named him that so we could call him Heiney because his mom’s name is Fanny, and my mom thought that was funny. I love Heiney so much and am so glad I was able to choose him for my 4-H project. Heiney and I have a special bond because he had a very hard birth and couldn't stand up so I had to help feed him and keep him alive for his first week. I knew after all the hard work keeping Heiney alive that I wanted him to be my project so I could train him and he could live at our farm longer. He was not very scared and I have had alot of fun training my steer. I can ride him and snuggle him and give him treats. Stud muffins are his favorite! Here's why you should buy my steer: First of all, you would be supporting a great 4H program, But more importantly, you can get meat! We ate one of our cows he was delicious!! Maybe my cow Heiney will become your favourite food! I also want to use the money from Heiney to buy a horse!
