Payment & Removal
Invoices will be sent out by email after the close of the sale. Please check your email/spam folder for invoice. All items purchased have to be paid within 2 business days by approved payment. Due to COVID-19 all payments are asked to be done electronically. Your invoice will have instructions on how to pay this way. If you can’t do this please call the office to make other arrangements. Fees & Taxes are in addition to the final bid price. Everything is sold “AS IS WHERE IS”. Once an item is deemed sold it becomes the responsibility of the buyer.
Load Out Times
Cows can be loaded out Thursday November 19 until 6pm, November 20th-21st 9am - 6pm, Bale load out within a month from sale day. Any other load out dates will need to be arranged with Wendy Schmaltz. From Worsley go 10 km west on Twp 870 to yard on right.
Cows can be viewed November 12th and 13th. Any other dates will have to be arranged with Wendy Schmaltz.
About the Cows
Selling 200 young powerful herd of Shaver cows. Majority of cows are from 3-5 years of age. This is a closed herd and has been on a full vaccination program. Half the herd are bred to start calving March 15. These are older group and will be bred Red Angus. Half the herd are bred to start calving April 15th. These are first and second calvers and will be bred to Shaver bulls. Selling 1100+ large hardcore 2020 Hay bales.
About the Breed
In 1960, the Shaver Beefblend program began with the introduction of onrelated beef breeds from different areas within Britain. Shortly thereafter with the establishment in Canada of the first quarantine station for European cattle, we made further introductions of Continental breeds.
As a result of thousands of calvings over several generations, the distinctive Shaver Beefblend had its beginning. We determined we would select for a red animal of medium frame. The 9 breeds incorporated were unrelated popular regional breeds. From the beginning we set out to develop Shaver Beefblend to have no relationship to established breeds with large herdbooks. Our object was to offer 85% of the worlds cattle breeders a stock that they could cross in their own herds that would be totally unrelated and thus maximize the effects of heterosis for our customers. No other composite breed has been developed in such a manner thus Shaver Beefblend offers cattlemen a genetic powerhouse, with immediate benefits for every commercial herd.
